WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence: annual report 2024

Overview

The WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence was established in 2021 by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and German Chancellor at the time Dr Angela Merkel in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As an integral part of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE), the WHO Hub plays a crucial role in supporting Member States to have the capability to detect risks earlier, fostering collaboration in data sharing and joint analysis, and enhancing decision-making. In 2024, the WHO Hub rapidly scaled up its operations and accelerated implementation across all initiatives. This report highlights the impact of the WHO Hub’s work in 2024.
