The WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence accelerates implementation: Year in review 2023

Overview

The WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence (WHO Hub) was established in Berlin in 2021 with the foundational support of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. Our mission is to improve data, analytics and decision-making to minimize the impacts of pandemic and epidemic threats. In 2023, our second year of existence as part of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, we made significant strides towards our goal of supporting countries around the world to strengthen their capacity to detect, monitor and manage current and future public health threats.

This report summarizes the impact of the WHO Hub’s work in building a resilient future for all. It describes our efforts to support regions and countries to detect, monitor and manage public health threats better. The report describes the innovative tools created, networks fostered and solutions developed to safeguard health security worldwide.
